Our Mission

The mission of Dress for Success® is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Our Vision

Our vision is a world where women do not live in poverty. We strive for a world where all women are financially independent, are treated with dignity and respect and are directly impacting their lives and those of their families. We aspire to a world that fully harnesses the power of women and recognizes their role in economic sustainability.

Our Purpose

“we are about much more than simply a new outfit”

Our purpose is to offer long-lasting solutions that enable women to break the cycle of poverty. Dress for Success is part of a global movement for change, empowering women to obtain safer and better futures.

We provide each client with professional attire to secure employment, but we are about much more than simply a new outfit. Besides physically equipping the client with apparel and accessories, our programs furnish her with a confidence that she carries forever and the knowledge that she can actively define her life, the direction she takes and what success means to her.

Our Beliefs

Every woman has the right to realize her full potential and achieve financial independence in a more egalitarian world. We believe that with the proper education, tools and action this world is possible.

Poverty often affects women the most, and its effects on them and their families can be long-lasting. Therefore, addressing women’s needs is central to improving the quality of life for not only that woman but also her family, future generations and her community. In fact, recognizing the significant role of women in economic development is the smart thing to do, as well as being socially and morally right.

We believe that achieving gender equality is imperative to developing a sustainable and just world for all, which is possible by acknowledging the crucial role that women play in the world economy.

We believe that by building up a woman’s agency and knowledge, better synergies between gender equality and economic sustainability are realized, enabling her to generate a long-term impact in both her private and public life.

Working Together

We are an ever-expanding network of affiliates who work together with referral agencies, volunteers and companies across the world to make a big impact in women’s lives. By supporting each other, we can reach a greater number of women and make our vision a reality.

Learn more about Help Ukrainian media keep going

What is our Mission?

Ukraine is facing an unprecedented, full-scale war. Media across the country continue to operate under the most challenging circumstances.

They have shown extraordinary courage, but the reality on the ground is that most operations cannot continue from Ukraine alone. This fundraiser is aimed at helping media relocate, set-up back offices and continue their operations from neighboring countries.

Ways to support media activities in Ukraine (e.g., purchases of security equipment, paying drivers, medical care) are outlined below.

This campaign is run by a consortium of The Fix , Are We Europe , Jnomics and Media Development Foundation , as well as multiple media partners from across Europe.

We are working with a growing list of Ukrainian media, including Ukrainska Pravda, Zaborona, Detector Media and others. Support is allocated based on urgency of needs in the first place, then distributed proportionally.

Looking for ways to support?

Different support options:

- If you want to provide support to fund media operations in Ukraine, please reach out to Stichting Are We Europe Foundation.

- If you want to provide funds to individual media directly, contact us and we will provide a list with their details.

- We are running a separate fundraiser for the Kyiv Independent - if you can support them, please do so.

- If you are representing other independent media covering the war, want to be a part of the campaign and receive financial or any other help, please send a short description of your media and the list of urgent needs using the contact button on our fundraiser page (bear in mind immediate support on the ground is extremely difficult to provide).

- If you want to support local and regional media, which are covering the war in other parts of the country, you can also reach out directly to Media Development Foundation: https://www.facebook.com/mdfoundationUA

Learn more about Range of Motion

What is our Mission?

We believe in equal access to prosthetic and orthotic services that facilitate independence through mobility.

We recognize the dual hardships of living in poverty with a disability, and stand in solidarity with those who are made to suffer from an unequal distribution of care.

We understand that disability is caused by broken devices and broken healthcare systems – not broken bodies – and we work to increase the mobility, visibility, and dignity of all those marginalized by lack of access to rehabilitative technology.

Looking to volunteer?

This program gives volunteers the opportunity to work alongside ROMP’s in country staff to provide patient care and to exchange best-practices in prosthetic care and physical and occupational therapy.

Volunteers will put their skills into action, taking a group of patients from evaluation and casting to delivery and training in an intense clinical week in Zacapa, Guatemala or Quito, Ecuador.

They impact both patients and staff, and walk away with a greater understanding of the issues facing people with amputation in Latin America.

Chris George:

”ProjectSendit combines two of my passions: rock climbing and helping kids. As a former teacher of underserved children, I have learned that the experience of rock climbing enables kids to challenge themselves in a safe, supportive environment. Seeing kids do safety checks, say "On Belay" and support each other through challenges is transformational!"

-Chris George

Many children in Denver never get the opportunity to get into the mountains that are our city’s majestic backdrop.

They see them only from a distance and through the filter of an urban lens. How, they may wonder, does one whose world is concrete, traffic lights and constant noise explore those towering mastiffs of rock and land?

In our increasingly tech-driven urban life, many are losing touch with the natural world and thus losing the ability to love and protect such vital places. Children are missing the opportunity to explore the world beyond our city streets, Project Send It aims to change that by introducing children to rock climbing.

Our Mission

To have the local climbing community introduce children from low-income families to adventures of the natural world and the lessons learned through rock climbing. Project Send It provides opportunities to build confidence, problem solve, be physically active, and interact with like-minded peers. All of these are skills that will carry over into the participants’ day-to-day lives, helping to serve the climber’s life and also their world at large.
