Feel Good Friday: Meet this Week's Featured Non-Profit, PawsCo

Feel-Good-Friday-01.jpg

Every Friday at 10am, the entire team at West + Main Homes Colorado comes together in a virtual meeting room to learn, share, grow, and connect. The Executive Team provides updates regarding the state of the local and national Real Estate industry, sometimes there are special industry guests or a panel of agents sharing lessons learned, success stories, or something else that the entire group can benefit from.

West + Main agents are also invited to nominate their favorite non-profit organization. All of the nominees are entered into a drawing, and a winner is randomly drawn at the end of our meeting to receive a $500 donation from West + Main on behalf of the agent who nominated them.

We call it Feel Good Friday!

PawsCo is about collective impact; it’s about changing lives. Everyone at PawsCo is a volunteer – a business rockstar by day and an animal avenger by night and weekend – and everyone is an integral part of the PawsCo team.

At PawsCo, we want to make a systematic difference in animal welfare, so we take a comprehensive approach that involves being proactive with outreach, addressing current issues, and being a resource to existing organizations.

PawsCo is a 501(c)3 nonprofit focused on helping animals through:

Outreach

Spay and Neuter

Unplanned litters of dogs and cats are a large source of animals entering the shelter system, and it’s a solvable problem.

PawsCo encourages everyone to spay/neuter their pets and help us take a big chunk out of the problem.

Top 3 Reasons to Spay and Neuter:

  1. Help reduce companion animal overpopulation.

  2. Increase the chances of a longer and healthier life for your pet

  3. Sterilizing your animal makes them a better pet, reducing the urge to roam, and decreasing the risk of contracting diseases or getting hurt as they roam.

Additional Benefits:

Your community will also benefit. Unwanted and stray animals can easily become a public nuisance, soiling parks and streets, ruining shrubbery, frightening children and elderly people, creating noise and other disturbances, causing automobile accidents, and sometimes even killing livestock or other pets.

Pet Food Drive

Pets are family, but some families and individuals in Colorado are placed in a place of having to relinquish their pet to a shelter simply because they do not have enough money to feed them. If a pet already has a loving home, PawsCo wants to keep it there.

The Food Bank of the Rockies has identified a need of 10,000 pounds of pet food each month to meet the requests from their food banks, and PawsCo’s goal is to support the 120,000 pounds of pet food needed to keep pets with their families. The ongoing drive collects dry and canned animal food and distributes it to families in need through a partnership with the Food Bank of the Rockies. PawsCo partnerships allow us to purchase food at a fraction of the cost, ultimately feeding more pets.

Please consider contributing to the ongoing PawsCo Pet Food Drive by dropping off a bag of pet food, or making an online donation to PawsCo. A recurring donation of $25 per month can deliver 600 pounds of food annually for the Food Bank of the Rockies to distribute to families who need assistance.

Adopting with PawsCo

Ready to adopt your pet? PawsCo is here to help.

All PawsCo pets live with volunteer foster families. Please fill out an application noting a specific animal you are interested in meeting, and our Adoption Team will contact you.Adopting a new companion is incredibly rewarding but also requires patience, love, positive reinforcement training, and a lifelong commitment.  We ask that potential adopters are serious about the decision to adopt before filling out an application.
