New Year's Eve in OKC

New Year's Eve festivities are continuing this year in OKC with modifications and safety precautions in place.

Pick up some bubbles and take-out from your favorite local restaurant and ring in 2021 virtually or mask up and venture out for a change of scenery. Oklahoma City has several ways to celebrate the new year that won't stress the post-Christmas budget.

Opening Night

Opening Night is a staple New Year’s Eve event in OKC. This year, Opening Night is streaming to you live from Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark! The event will be a free, virtual livestream experience for all ages to enjoy from the comfort of home. Before the midnight fireworks extravaganza kicks off, start your New Year’s with the 8th annual Virtual Finale 5K

Union Station Illumination

Head to Scissortail Park and admire the twinkling holiday lights on Union Station. While you're there, take a stroll through the park then stop by Social Capital for dinner and drinks, or homemade ice cream if the kids are in tow, and take advantage of the expansive patio space.

Holiday Brews

From fruity sours to famous stouts, Oklahoma City has an approachable beer scene to captivate every audience, no matter the individual taste. Stop by one of the local breweries and try a special holiday edition brew! Vanessa House is rolling out festive cookie-infused stout beers all December long, so you'll want to visit more than once—your taste buds will thank you.

OKC Thunder Game

This year, the Oklahoma City Thunder are playing at home against the New Orleans Pelicans on New Year’s Eve. While fans will not be in attendance at the game, it doesn't mean you can't cheer on the home team virtually with your favorite local take out and a drink in hand. If you're looking to venture out of the house, enjoy patio dining before the 7 p.m. game, or head to one of OKC's beloved sports bars to catch the action. Thunder Up!

Bricktown Comedy Club

Ring in the New Year with a night full of laughs! Catch Preacher Lawson at the Bricktown Comedy Club on New Year's Eve and enjoy food, drinks and professional comedy. Thursday-Saturday shows are 18+, and the Sunday shows are open to all ages. The doors open an hour prior to each show, and tickets range from $20-$50.

NYE at Home Box

The Hall's Pizza Kitchen is offering festive holiday treats and special NYE at Home boxes that provide everything you need to celebrate at home and in style. Choose between the Sips & Sweets and Prix Fixe boxes that are designed to be true New Year's Eve experiences by themselves—complete with confetti, dessert and bubbles. Visit this page to pre-order a NYE at Home Box and choose between curbside pickup or delivery.

OKC Staycation

Take advantage of the unique lodging options throughout the city with an OKC staycation. A popular NYE celebration spot in OKC is the Ambassador Hotel—featuring a French restaurant on the first floor and a rooftop bar with one of the best views of the city skyline. For a staycation that won't break the bank, spend the evening at the fun and funky Classen Inn where you can enjoy beer and wine in your room from the onsite Superette. For a splurge NYE celebration, head to the Bradford House, a new boutique hotel with an onsite cafe, bar, and restaurant where you can spend the whole night celebrating in style with a special 5-course dinner, wine pairing, and a boutique room of your choice. Dinner spots are limited and filling up fast so visit this page to make a reservation.

Cheers to 2021!
