The Dumb Friends League (DFL) is offering 50% off adoption fees for all dogs 1 year old and older until Friday at both the Leslie A. Malone Center in Denver and the Buddy Center in Castle Rock.
Maia Brusseau, a spokesperson for DFL, said while the organization hopes people take advantage of the half-price dog adoption special, it’s important to remember that adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment.
Adoption specials are put in place for a variety of reasons, and Brusseau said this particular special does not necessarily correspond with the holiday season.
“In this case, it is because we have animals that have been waiting a little longer than normal to find homes and would like to see those pets adopted so we can help even more homeless pets,” she said.
All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip ID, a free office visit with a participating veterinarian and 30 days of free pet insurance, according to the DFL. The standard adoption screening process still applies during all reduced-fee promotions.
